Particularly, there is a pod that had Second Officer Keen.

You did repair the radio on the pod, or build one in your base, right? Do that if you haven’t. The radio will eventually give you a couple of clue markers to help here.

Not really sure how to proceed, getting frustrated here :-( I got a blueprint for a water purifier, but it needs both manganite and aerogel - but aerogel seems to require materials which are at 500+ depth But the places which seem rich in Manganite still seem out of reach for me (currently 300m depth) - where should I look?Įvery time I explore a new area, I’m getting wrecked by these monsters which grab my seamoth and tear it to shreds - it’s really discouraging me from exploring further : I found a boatload of Lithium, but now I’m lacking Manganite.

I see a bunch of potential areas listed in wikis to find power cell charger components, but am not having luck finding them - anyone have a direct pointer? Instead of just making endless power cells, I want to recharge the current ones - but I haven’t found the power cell charger blueprint yet (just the battery charger). I accidentally left my Cyclops running, so now it’s completely dead Even after browsing various wikis I’m mostly having trouble just navigating to the recommended places. I’m kind of hitting a wall again and am not sure how to proceed. You’d be fine just using crafted water, but it’s a, “nice to have,” item. The advantage there is that each water you make provides the highest water-need fill of any of the other sources. Late game water (from a base treatment plant) is usually when you have heavy power sources and can burn some of it for water treatment. Or just use your new knife while out and about. Placing two (or more) of the same fish in a tank will get them breeding and you can replenish your food as you play, cutting down on needing to do a food hunting expedition.

You still need portable food too, and if you’re smart you’ll game that a bit too. In my opinion, those sources of food and growing them are MUST haves. Some of that same food also supplies water, which lessens the need for that too. But amazingly, just topping up food before you head out of your base alleviates a big portion of the food problem. It’s not good food to travel with, it takes a ton of inventory space to carry. You grow that in your bases (and in your Cyclops) in either single pots or larger plant holders. Enter later game food which you find on land. But it’s a pain, it takes a while out of doing what you want to do when you have to round up those things.

#SUBNAUTICA CYCLOPS ENGINE FRAGMENTS DECEMBER UPGRADE#

Nearly everywhere you go in game you can find fish to eat (especially with a knife upgrade you have coming,) and either fish to convert to water, or salt+coral to convert to bleach, then water. Water and food production are both necessary and not. Like … who would go to the Aurora without a Seamoth? Also note, similar to the scanner room, the moonpool has an upgrade station you can build within it. The Aurora has some of those upgrades as well but in multiple playthroughs I seem to get into the Aurora after I’ve already learned most of the things in there.

You can’t go too deep because you need the mod station, but you need to go deep to get to some of the wrecks. It has to do with where the fragments for those lie, and it’s a bit of a chicken before the egg thing. The parts of the cyclops aren’t too far from the Aurora anyway. It’s very common, if not the norm for people to be able to build a Seamoth and Cyclops at or right before getting the moonpool or mod station. When you build one, inside that room is also an “upgrade” panel that allows you to build things like additional range mods for the room itself.Īs for your timeline, you didn’t screw up. You do reach a point later in the game when their usefullness fades, but you can surely use them anywhere you build a base if you need them. They take a while to scan and during that scan time they will drain power, especially so if you’re only using a few solar power panels for your base. Like said they scan for resources so the are best where you hunt for resources the most.
